The Basketball Without Borders Asia camp returns to Australia for the first time since 2022 — set to take place in Perth in conjunction with Hoopsfest.

The 14th BWB Asia Camp will bring together 60 of the top high school-age prospects from over 15 countries across the Asia-Pacific region, with 13 Aussies being selected across both the boys and girls rosters.

The four-day development camp — from Thursday, Sept. 19 to Sunday, Sept. 22 — will see the campers put through their paces by a host of current and former NBA, WNBA and FIBA players at Warwick Stadium, headlined by NBA champion Aron Baynes and four-time WNBA champion
Cynthia Cooper.

Philadelphia 76ers assistant coach Bobby Jackson, LA Clippers assistant coach Jay Larranaga, and two-time NBA All-Star and former NBA head coach Terry Porter will be on hand to coach the campers, alongside FIBA Players’ Commission member and former Australian Opal Jenni Screen.

The players and coaches will lead the campers through a host of different activities from movement efficiency drills, offensive and defensive skill stations, three-point contests, 5-on-5 games, and life-
skills and leadership development sessions.

Since 2001, BWB has reached over 4,500 participants from 142 countries, with 127 players making the leap to the NBA and WNBA.

This year’s BWB camp will be held in conjunction with the inaugural Hoopsfest — a celebration of Australian basketball in Perth, combining music, food, culture, entertainment, and fashion in a weekend of festivities. 

Hoopsfest is headlined by Round 1 of the NBL season, with all ten teams in action, alongside the Cygnett WNBL Tournament, featuring all eight WNBL teams and the Foot Locker Under-18 Australian Club Championships.
