So it makes sense that players doing a pre-tournament press conference would be asked about enjoying some vino in the region. But 20-year-old Luke Clanton, still a junior a Florida State despite some PGA Tour success already, expertly handled the question.
“Well, I’m 20, so I really can’t—I really can’t do much because I know this is wine country,” Clanton said on Tuesday. “No, I’m more kind of stay at home, play a bunch of video games, chill out, relax, talk to the girlfriend on the phone. “Had to do some homework last night, but other than that it’s been OK,” Clanton said moments later.
Homework! Good job, Luke. Stay focused on both the course and your courses and maybe you can enjoy a little victory vino come Sunday night.
