It’s certainly not the worst week on the FedEx Cup Fall with some of the best golfers in the world fighting for priority ranking and access to the 2025 signature events as they compete at this week’s World Wide Technology Championship in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. If you’re teeing off with money on the line, it might as well be at the Tiger Woods-designed El Cardonal at Diamante.

Erik van Rooyen will return to defend an emotional victory as the South African pro became the tournament’s first back-to-back winner since Viktor Hovland in 2020-’21. He also dedicated his triumph to a former college teammate, Jon Trasamar, who was in his last days fighting a battle with cancer. He’s currently No. 67 in the FedEx Cup standings, so a strong finish here will definitely help get him into hotly contested PGA Tour events coming up.

Cameron Young is back on the course this week for the first time since the BMW Championship in August. He’s missed just one cut over the last 11 months. Other notable players include Nico Echavarria, coming off a Zozo Championship victory, Camilo Villegas and Joel Dahmen. Local golfers looking to win in their home country include Isidro Benitez, Santiago de la Fuente, Emilio Gonzalez and Omar Morales.

This week’s winner will receive a $1.296 million cut of the $7.2 million purse.
