Everything To Know About Australian Fashion Week 2024 | ELLE

Australian Fashion Week is set to descend on Carriageworks this May for another stellar display of our most successful and up-and-coming designers

The 2024 iteration of this iconic event is set to be slightly different to previous years, with Afterpay ending its naming rights deal with AFW in 2023. Instead, Pandora is on board as the week’s first-ever presenting partner, as well as the official jewellery partner for this year’s event.

While most of the shows are reserved for industry professionals, each year, a select few are made available to the public. This year, five shows have been slated for general release, including Acler, Romance Was Born, David Jones Indigenous Fashion Projects Runway, and Pandora’s Closing Night Runway.

Also in the mix of publically-available shows is Carla Zampatti, with the brand returning to Australian Fashion Week for the first time in four years. This homecoming for the iconic label is perfect timing, having recently appointed a new creative director, Karlie Ungar.

Ungar told the Sydney Morning Herald, “This is an opportunity to show what the next chapter looks like…There’s been a lot of time spent in the archive trying to understand the inspiration, the thought process and the way Carla approached collections. The brand has a strong handwriting and consistency but I’m pushing that.”

Carla Zampatti will present on the opening evening at 6pm, with a further encore presentation at 8pm, which is open to consumers.
