Wings Of Song is one of the leading contenders in the Australasian Oaks

A strong bunch of fillies will do battle for Group l glory in the Australasian Oaks (2000m) this Saturday at Morphettville.

Down below is a speed map, runner preview and $100 betting strategy for the 2024 Australasian Oaks.

2024 Australasian Oaks Runner Preview:

1. Pulchritudinous: Pulchritudinous is a very interesting runner. Former Kiwi that makes her Australian debut for GaiBott. This girl last start bolted up in the NZ Oaks and gee she was dominant late when asked for the big effort by Kennedy. Now with GaiBott, Randwick trial was solid enough and she’ll be stronger than most at the end.

2. Wings Of Song: Clearly likeable given how arrogant her win was in the Auraria. I just question how strong that race was and the fact she was first up with improvement to come…is she a jet or were the rest no good? I am saying no good and with that, at the price, I am risking her.

3. Positivity: Attempted to lead throughout in the NZ Oaks and was brave in front but had no answers late for Pulchtritudinous. I can’t see her turning the tables.

4. Serasana: Slight overs the Sandown Guineas winner. Given a barrier trial steer at Caulfield last time and was never a winning factor given how quiet the ride was. I think her best is good enough to be a knockout hope.

5. Queen Of Dragons: Queen Of Dragons is the map horse and she does have the quality form given she ran fourth in the Vinery Stud at Rosehill when near the speed and she trued her guts out. Just lacked the class to go with them late in the piece behind Orchestral, who would be $1.50 against these. Maps perfect, gets D Lane, strong late…likeable.

6. Vibrant Sun: Got a 12/10 from Stockdale in the Alexandra and duly saluted, just getting the better of Grinzinger Belle, who I feel is cooked so not sure how strong that form is and while she gets M Zahra, I think she is way too short.

7. Mollynickers: If there was one from the Auraria I’d be taking, it’s this girl. I thought she was done for the prep but she ran a beauty in the Auraria after getting back to near last. If she can get a drag into the race, I think she’s going well enough to threaten.

8. Coco Sun: She has come back in beast mode this girl. Arrogant first up win at Sandown and repeated the dose with purpose at Bendigo. Bred to eat up 2000m, maps perfect, J Kah aboard…plenty to like about her chances.

9. Qali Al Farrasha: Got off the speed and kept chasing in a really good effort behind Pulchritudinous. But, she was safely held on the line and for mine, can’t turn the tables.

10. Quickster: Not given much hope with the ride in the Auraria and did a good job to stick on like she did. Stable is flying and B Shinn replacing W Price…can’t find a bigger jockey upgrade. But, is there petrol left in the tank?

11. Concello: Chris Waller had several nominated for this race but goes with the sole rep in Concello and J Mac steers, so the intent is there for all to see and the run in the Adrian Knox is there to see. She got back and was very good late in the piece without threatening behind Good Banter. If she can use the gate and settle closer in the run, she’ll take beating.

12. Private Legacy: I wanted to find her at odds but the more I look at the Adrian Knox replay, the more I think she can’t turn the tables on Concello and with that, I can’t entertain her.

13. Into You: A filly who I think has good talent. Took on the older Mares over 2100m at Sale last time and looked all over a winner but couldn’t quite see it through and was nabbed on the peg.

14. The Autumn Belle: Ridden like it was a barrier trial in the Auraria and worked home well without threatening. Can’t see her turning the tables on the Patrick Payne filly though.

15. Bon Mistress: Luckless in the Auraria but can’t see her threatening.

16. Infinity Imperial: Dominant maiden win at Pakenham last time but this looks too hard.

17. Harvest Moon (First Emergency): Had her chance in the Auraria and just whacked late. Pass.

18. Seeking Stardom (Second Emergency): Midweek filly.

19. Shut That D’Or (Third Emergency): Garret Lynch doesn’t mind a shot at the title with placement but even for him, this is ridiculous placement.

2024 Australasian Oaks Speed Map

Looks to be several forward horses here. Positivity will press forward, likewise Queen Of Dragons. Harvest Moon, if she gains a run, looks the likely leader with the GaiBott polish. Coco Sun maps perfect to stalk the speed, while Serasana can use an inside gate to advantage.
