Phoebe Jones, the daughter of the late cricketing legend Dean Jones, has paid a special tribute to her father on her wedding day in the Philippines.
Dean Jones, who was inducted to the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame in 2019, is one of the most beloved players in Australia’s long history in the sport.

A swashbuckling batter, Jones starred for Australia in the 1980s and 90s before tragically passing away on September 24, 2020 aged just 59.
The Victorian was in India as part of his IPL commentary duties when he suffered a stroke in his Mumbai hotel and died.
Phoebe Jones, one of the cricketer’s three children, married partner Dario Gomez on the island paradise of Boracay in the Philippines last Wednesday.
As a tribute to her father, Phoebe had the number 324 embroidered at the end of a flowing, beautiful veil she wore on the day.
Jones was the 324th Australian selected to play Test cricket for his country.
Phoebe’s sister and bridesmaid Augusta and mum Jane were among the guests at the wedding, which had a white theme and featured a stunning sand sculpture with the words “Dario & Phoebe wedding, 24 April 2024”.
“Feeling all the love after the week of our dreams,” Phoebe posted on social media on Saturday.
Augusta also posted a comment on Instagram.
“The most beautiful week celebrating Mr & Mrs Gomez, so many smiles, tears and everlasting memories,” she wrote.
The cricket world reacted with shock and dismay at Jones’ sudden death in 2020, losing a beloved larrikin who made his mark as a player, coach and commentator.
Jones was farewelled at a private family service attended by just 10 people at the MCG on October 7, 2020, when the country was in the grips of the Covid pandemic.
“We have been deeply moved by the outpouring of love for Dean over the last week and can’t thank everyone enough for their support and for sharing their memories with us,” wife Jane said at the time.
“It has been an awful time to navigate as a family, but I could not have thought of a more fitting place to say goodbye to my husband.”
He was then honoured on the opening day of the Boxing Day Test against India that year.
Augusta also shared a moving tribute to her late father on Instagram after his shock death.
“I cannot believe I am writing this. My heart is broken,” she wrote in part. “My dad. My hero. The sweetest and most caring person you could ever meet.
“If only you could see now how many lives you touched. If only you could see now how loved you were.
“Everything I do is for you. I love you Dad.”
The cricket world was then in mourning once again in 2022, when Aussie wicketkeeping great Rod Marsh and then Jones’ great mate Shane Warne passed away within 24 hours of each other in March of that year.
