South Australian trainer Jordan Frew has received a 10-month ban for exceeding the legal blood alcohol limit while handling a horse on race day at Morphettville on April 20. Frew, who already had a suspended sentence from a similar incident in May 2022, pleaded guilty during a hearing last Friday.

In a statement to owners, Frew expressed remorse for his actions and acknowledged the impact on his family, staff, and connections. He is working with Racing SA Stewards to ensure the well-being of his horses during his suspension.

Frew, who has trained 19 winners this season, intends to use the time to address personal matters and develop a plan for the future.
