He joined the team as a consultant. From October, Broe will officially become part of the Dutch team’s new five-person sports management team. Along with Grischa Niermann, Mathieu Heijboer, Robbert de Groot and Jacco Verhaeren, he will be one of the sports policymakers. “My role is mainly to work out the race strategy. This involves analysing the competition, our strengths and weaknesses, and the course of the various races. I also give advice on how best to prepare for a race. My duties not only include short-term work. For example, I look for young, talented riders who share the team’s values and goals. I will also try to advise the commercial team with innovative ideas”, Broe explains.
