A big crowd is expected at the WAFL match between Swan Districts and South Fremantle for the John Todd Memorial Cup.
The match will be held at Steel Blue Oval in Bassendean on Saturday, June 15, after Todd died on June 4, aged 86.
Bassendean residents have been warned to expect an influx of visitors and shortage of parking due to train service disruptions. The Midland train line will be closed from June 14 to 16 for works on the Morley-Ellenbrook line.
Overflow parking for people going to the game will be available behind Cyril Jackson Senior Campus, with shuttle buses running to and from Steel Blue Oval from 11.30am and returning from 5pm to 6pm.
The shuttle buses will depart from a temporary stop on Reid Street before Kathleen Street (next to Cyril Jackson Senior Campus) and travel via Reid Street, West Road, Watson Street, Hamilton Street, Palmerston Street, West Road and Old Perth Road to stop 15547 (Old Perth Road after West Road).
The Swan Districts Football Club has moved its WAFL Pride home game to August 3 to make way for the Memorial Cup.
It will hold a pre-game Legends Luncheon to honour Todd and Tony Notte reaching his 300th Swan Districts game.
The event is supported by the Town of Bassendean, which said Todd had a significant impact on the town through his leadership of the Swan Districts Football Club.
It passed its condolences on to the family of Todd.
