Australia star batter David Warner’s wife, Candice Warner, came up with a heartwarming note after his husband said goodbye to international cricket following his team’s ouster from the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. Australia got kicked out of the tournament after losing their last clash against India and was dependent on Afghanistan’s loss in their final fixture against Bangladesh.

Under the leadership of Rashid Khan, the Afghan team won their last match by eight runs and grabbed their spot in the semi-final from Super 8 Group 1 along with India. Warner who said that he will announce his retirement post the T20 World Cup 2024, bid adieu to his long 15-year career.

As the star opener batter announced his retirement, wishes started coming in from the entire cricketing fraternity as many current and former cricketers paid tribute to the Australian cricketer.

Warner’s wife Candice also posted a heartfelt note where she said, “Congratulations @davidwarner31 on one of the best international cricket careers we have ever seen for our country. In his illustrious career, Warner scored the most number of centuries for Australia as an opener, making 49 tons his name from 374 appearances for his national team. The southpaw also got Player of the Tournament in Australia’s campaign of the 2021 T20 World Cup, ending the season as the second-highest run scorer of the tournament with 289 runs to his name from seven innings.
