The Central Coast Mariners continued their amazing story as the underdog club achieving big in the A-League Men, winning their second championship in a row and third overall in a wonderful season where they won the treble.
After winning the minor premiership and the AFC Cup, becoming the first Australian side to win the latter trophy, they then hosted the Grand Final at Industree Group Stadium in Gosford against the Melbourne Victory.
They were behind until the final moments of the match when they scored a late equaliser through Ryan Edmonsdon; the Mariners would go on to win 3-1 after extra-time.
In the A-League Women, Sydney FC won their second Grand Final in a row after defeating minor premiers Melbourne City 1-0 at AAMI Park.
