Paris 2024 Olympics Australia schedule, July 28, Sunday: Emma McKeon, Jessica Fox, Hockeyroos, Matildas in focus today

Australian ace Emma McKeon will be swimming for her 13th Olympic medal when competes in the women’s 100m butterfly final at Paris 2024 on Sunday, July 28.

McKeon secured a record-extending 12th medal at the Summer Games as part of the Australian women’s 4x100m freestyle relay team on Saturday and another podium finish on Sunday will only consolidate her status as the most-decorated Aussie in Olympic history.

McKeon’s fellow Dolphin Ariarne Titmus will also return to the Paris La Defense Arena for the 200m fly after successfully defending her women’s 400m freestyle crown on Saturday.

Titmus is also the defending champion in the event but can only qualify for the final on Sunday for a crack at the medal on Monday.

Another Australian who will be looking to add to Australia’s Paris 2024 Olympics medal tally as well as her own will be canoeist Jessica Fox, who will be in action in the women’s kayak semi-finals for a crack at a medal later in the day.

Fox is a four-time Olympic medallist looking for her fifth.

The Hockeyroos also start their campaign on Sunday against South Africa and so will the Stingers against Spain. The Australian women’s rugby sevens team will also be in action.

Meanwhile, the Matildas will be looking to bounce back after their disappointing loss to Germany in the opener. They take on Zambia in a must-win match.

Australian tennis star Alex de Minaur is also set for his Olympic debut when he takes on Germany’s Jan-Lennard Struff in the first round of men’s singles.

Sailing was also expected to start on Sunday but has been rescheduled.
