The Australian Opals get their 2024 Paris Olympics campaign underway on Monday night against Nigeria to tip-off the action in Group B.
The Opals will look to improve on their bronze medal finish at the 2022 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Sydney, with eight players from that squad taking the floor at the Games.
The Aussies come into the opener as heavy favourites against the 12th-ranked Nigeria, who earned their spot at the Olympics after being crowned AfroBasket champions in 2023. this is Nigeria’s third appearance at the Olympics after previously qualifying in 2020 and 2004.
