Breaking down the Golf Twitter saga you didn’t know you needed – Australian Golf Digest

If you were scrolling Golf Twitter this past Sunday looking for takes on the FedEx St. Jude or LIV Greenbrier, your algorithm was likely feeding you something else entirely – an endless string of opinions and thoughts on a much different golf event that was playing out in real time: the demise of “Country Club Snob,” a parody account that had amassed a following of over 30,000 for his (often hilarious) takes on what he described as the “mid-tier” country club life.

If you are still scratching your head at that paragraph, then you’ve come to the right place. On this week’s episode of The Loop podcast, we attempt to break down this Golf Twitter saga you didn’t know you needed in your life to the best of our abilities. Also, if you feel so inclined, you can check out my extra-detailed breakdown of the situation over on TikTok. Strap in, because it’s a doozy.

Of course, we had much else to discuss from this past weekend, too, like Hideki Matsuyama’s rollercoaster Sunday in Memphis and Brooks Koepka’s impressive fifth victory on the LIV Tour. Myself, Alex Myers and Stephen Hennessey also debated how we’d fix the FedEx Cup Playoffs and we gave out our favorite early leans for the BMW Championship.

Most importantly, though, our fearless producer Greg Gottfried chatted with the one and only Shooter McGavin, also known as actor Christopher McDonald (his “real name”). It’s an A+, jam-packed episode if we do say so ourselves. Please, have a listen below, and like and subscribe to The Loop wherever you get your podcasts.
