Top-10 finish for Aussie David Micheluzzi at Danish Championship

Top-10 finish for Aussie David Micheluzzi at Danish Championship

Micheluzzi was among a group of four who tied for 10th place on seven under for the tournament, with the 28-year-old Melburnian having shot a final-round two-under 69.

Frenchman Lacroix began the day four shots off the lead on Sunday, but quickly closed the gap with three birdies on the front nine before powering clear of the chasing pack with three more gains after the turn.

His flawless 65 saw him finish the tournament on 14 under par, four strokes clear of nearest challengers Romain Langasque and Lucas Bjerregaard.

Last week’s Czech Masters winner, David Ravetto, was alone in fourth another shot further back and one ahead of the large group containing Danish amateur Jacob Skov Olesen and England’s Joe Dean.

Australian Jason Scrivener tied for 27th on four under after a last-round, level-par 71.

Lacroix revealed he drew inspiration from seeing fellow Frenchman and friend Ravetto lift the trophy at the previous week’s Czech Masters.

“Seeing my friend win last week, it showed that it’s possible, it’s more than doable,” he said.

“I’m just a bit lost for words now.”
