TG4 have announced that the station will again broadcast weekly matches and highlights from the upcoming Australian Football League Women’s (AFLW) season.

A record thirty-four Irish players will take the field this season with eighteen Irish counties represented.

Five players from Tipperary will play, including,

• Orla O’Dwyer (Brisbane Lions)
• Aisling McCarthy (Freemantle)
• Anna Rose Kennedy (Geelong Cats)
• Aishling Moloney (Geelong Cats)
• Niamh Martin (North Melbourne)

The AFLW Competition begins this weekend with eighteen teams battling it out to see who will reach the Grand Final on November 30.

TG4 will broadcast two matches deferred each weekend as well as weekly highlights as part of GAA 2024 on Monday evenings at 8pm. 

 AFL Aussie Rules na mBan starts this Saturday at 12pm with Essendon v Freemantle.

• Saturday 31 August 12:00pm – Deferred Round 1 – Essendon v Freemantle
• Sunday 1 September 12.05pm – Deferred Round 1 – Brisbane Lions v Kangaroos
• Saturday 7 September – Deferred Round 2 – Melbourne v Brisbane Lions
• Sunday 8 September – Deferred Round 2 – St Kilda v Sydney Swans
