Watch: Australian cricket stars’ wild secrets revealed through lie-detector test

There have been a plethora of reality or comedy shows in the world with some unusual elements to keep the viewers glued to the TV screens. Time moved on and shows began to expand through various social media domains. As a result, we have seen some cricket stars taking part in quizzes and other hilarious shows.

However, the Australian cricket team went a notch up recently. Now imagine, two hosts Fletch and Hindy grilling the team through a lie detector test. Things can go out of hand going by the rules of the show but with a twist. For the unversed, Pat Cummins and Co. featured on the ‘Fletch and Hindy‘ Show in their homeland. The rule was simple- Tell the truth and an attached blue-coloured buzzer will blink. However, an incorrect reply will invite sending electric shockwaves to the player.

As a result, stars like Pat Cummins, Travis Head, Marnus Labuschagne, Usman Khawaja and Mitchell Marsh were pushed into the firing range. But the real twist was the kind of questions and the decision made by the show hosts made the lie-detecting rather hilarious. The motive of the test was to reveal the most controversial things and hidden facts of the lives of the Oz players.

The ODI World Cup hero Travis Head began the proceedings. Cleverly enough, the hosts zeroed in on how Head decided to celebrate the final win against India.

“Travis, do you like to party? Do you, do you like to party?” Fletch asked

“Yes,” replied Head to this question.

“Did you drink more than five beers after the World Cup win? More than 10? More than 25?”

Hilariously, the host named Fletch pressed the button for electric shock to bamboozle Head even before the explosive batter replied with a “no.”

Unlike his usual position as an opener in the Australian side, Usman Khawaja chose not to open the innings in the funny lie-detecting test. Khawaja was asked about what was wrong with his teammate, Marnus Labuschagne.

“I think he got dropped on his head a few too many times as a kid,” Khawaja gave a witty reply to the question.

Luckily for the cricketer, this answer saved him from receiving the electric shock. Thereafter, the host grilled him with a David Warner retirement question. He was asked whether the current environment of the team was better now or before Warner left the team. The result? Khawaja received a sudden electric shock in the context that he lied and that the shock felt like someone knocked his head from the back out of nowhere.

“No. Ow, did someone just smack me in the back, what the hell was that? I felt like someone just hit me in the back of the head,” Khawaja said while getting stunned.

“You’ve just got to say yes or no, so obviously you were lying,” the host Fletch said.

Pat Cummins believes Bazball was bulls**t

Next up to take the hot seat was the Australian skipper, Pat Cummins. He was asked to confirm his name to start with. Then in the follow-up, at one point, Cummins was asked his opinion on the ‘Bazball’. Quite unflinchingly, he darted with a no-pun intended, “It is,” agreed with the host calling it ‘bulls**t.’ Meanwhile, Josh Hazlewood was asked whether his name was Joshua and if he also had a middle name.

Furthermore, when Marnus Labuschagne took the seat, he was asked how to say his surname the correct way. To this, he took the reference of ‘Ch’ from his surname thereby ruling out the Labu’shane’ reference as often done by renowned commentators in the world of cricket. Besides, some hidden truths about Glenn Maxwell were unearthed as well.

Labuschagne was asked about the infamous golf incident. He confirmed that Maxwell did fall from the cart. However, his reply attracted electric shocks. While Mitchell Marsh was asked about the Turkey trip of the all-rounder. in reply, he revealed that Maxwell had travelled to Turkey for dental treatment which meant that he got a new set of teeth.
