A man has suffered “life-threatening” wounds to his chest in an alleged stabbing inside a busy Gold Coast shopping centre.

The 42-year-old man was found by a security guard in the bathroom at the Australia Fair shopping entre on Marine Pde in Southport at 12.20pm on Friday.

Critical Care Paramedics treated the man and have taken him to Gold Coast University Hospital.

Queensland Police have established two crime scene investigations, one being the toilets where the man was found.

A second crime scene has been identified on nearby Welch St.

“No one has been taken into custody at this time,” police said.
