The search for missing Australian Instagram influencer Joel Pringle has come to a tragic end, with authorities confirming his death four weeks after he disappeared from Airlie Beach, Queensland.
Pringle, a popular graphic designer and father from Queensland, was last seen at the Lagoon on August 19, sparking a widespread search effort involving family, friends, and local volunteers.
On September 18, his partner, Eve Houghton, shared the heartbreaking news on a Facebook page dedicated to finding Pringle. “It is with deep sadness that we share the news that Joel was found late yesterday evening. Unfortunately, he has passed,” she wrote, expressing gratitude for the community’s support throughout the search.
“We are incredibly thankful to the police, water police, SES, and local businesses that helped display flyers and posters,” Houghton said, adding that the love and support shown by those involved would forever be treasured by Joel’s family and friends.
Originally from Melbourne, Pringle had amassed a following of over 40,000 on Instagram, known for his trendy logo designs.
His death is being treated as non-suspicious, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
