Sarfaraz Khan hires a chef to improve his fitness for the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024 against Australia

Sarfaraz Khan scored 150 runs in the second innings of the opening Test against New Zealand at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Sarfaraz, who is renowned for scoring big in domestic cricket, finally played a long innings in international cricket.

He is also preparing for the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024 against Australia. The series will start from November 22 in Perth.

Sarfaraz Khan is now hired a chef after taking suggestion from wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant to improve his fitness for five Tests against Australia.

Suryakumar Yadav, who plays with Sarfaraz Khan for Mumbai in domestic cricket, has revealed that Pant provided the 26-year-old with a chef. For the record, Sarfaraz made his Ranji debut under Suryakumar Yadav’s captaincy.

“Sarfaraz is taking help of the Indian team strength and conditioning coach and Rishabh Pant has arranged a chef for him to take care of his food. He wants to be in a better shape for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024 against Australia. Fitness is important in cricket and Sarfaraz is working hard,” Suryakumar told the Indian Express.

Sarfaraz has been criticised for his fitness in the past.

“His body makes him look fat but he can face 450 balls and score double hundred and triple hundred. He has that skills. The team management wants him to score big hundreds. He never skips practice sessions. He wakes up at 5 am and bats for one hour near his home and then joins team bus on match days. After the game, he returns to net for batting practice,” he added.
