It’s very busy week on the corporate calendar with a deluge of AGMs stretching from Dublin (Oneview Healthcare) to Auckland (Spark and many others) with a bit of corporate reporting thrown in for good measure.
Macquarie Group posts its half year results on Friday, while global packaging group Amcor releases first quarter results, also on Friday.
Some things to watch out for include a couple of challengers to the ASX board (probably won’t succeed) and BHP holds its Australian AGM in Brisbane on Friday and might field some curly questions on the compensation payout and other legal challenges from the 2015 Brazilian mine disaster.
BHP AGMs often attract protests outside, as do Whitehaven Coal meetings (Wednesday).
Speaking of protests, Woolworths (Thursday) has received a resolution from shareholders to cease sourcing salmon for its Own Brand line from Tasmania’s Macquarie Harbour.
Given the resolution is supported by 0.004% of Woolworths shares on issue, the resolution faces a battle to get up, although Woolies says it supports Federal and State Government reviews of fish farms in Macquarie Harbour and the oxygenation project being developed there.
Below is an exhaustive (and exhausting) list of AGMs this week, lifted from shareholder activist Stephen Mayne’s Mayne Report website.
