Nathan McSweeney will have an opportunity to cement his spot in the Test side’s starting XI for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy during the second Australia A match against India A at the MCG.
The South Australian, who has never opened before at first-class level, will face the new ball alongside Victoria’s Marcus Harris at the iconic venue for the final instalment of the four-way ‘bat-off’.

Fellow Test hopefuls Cameron Bancroft and Sam Konstas, also touted as contenders to partner Usman Khawaja in the Test side this summer, are listed to bat at No. 3 and No. 4 respectively.
Former Test quicks Michael Neser and Scott Boland also feature in the Australia A starting XI, along with West Australian spinner Corey Rocchiccioli, who is pushing his case for a plane ticket to Sri Lanka in January.
The second match between Australia A and India gets underway at the MCG at 10.30am AEDT.
