Last weekend, Nelly Korda became the first athlete confirmed for the 2025 edition of Sports Illustrated’s iconic SI Swimsuit issue. A few days later, Korda—who won six times in 2024—claimed the LPGA’s Rolex Player of the Year award with three events to spare. Needless to say, it’s been a heck of a week for the women’s World No. 1 … but it’s not done yet.
On Thursday, Sports Illustrated shared the first images from Korda’s SI Swimsuit shoot, and they’re just as confident and classy as you might expect from the 2024 Chevron champ. Get those fire emojis ready folks.

SI’s post racked up over 34,000 likes on Instagram in a matter of hours, including Jena Sims, who commented, “I just said oh my god out loud.” Sims was an SI Swimsuit rookie in 2024, so we think she knows what she’s talking about.

Korda, who also turned heads at the Met Gala this year, will be joined by fellow athletes like sprinter Gabby Thomas, gymnast Suni Lee and skier Eileen Gu in the 2025 issue, with more to be announced soon. Though the issue won’t hit newsstands until next spring, if these shots are any indication, it will be well worth the wait.
