Test hopeful Marcus Harris has so far made the most of his golden opportunity on Day 2 against India A, amid more intrigue surrounding the tourists and a request for ball changes.

The Victorian opener is currently closing in on 47th first-class fifty — and should he go on with his current score of 48 not out, it could become his most important yet.
His 103-ball knock has so far produced four boundaries, with the 32-year-old looking particularly comfortable with balls on his pads or in his cover drive arc.
Harris has looked at home for the most part of his innings, but has certainly bared the brunt of some strong seam bowling from Inda A’s attack; on a pitch with tinges of green.
Earlier in the day amid Australia A’s middle-order collapse, Indian bowler Prasidh Kirshna approached umpire Gerard Abood in the 28th over — seemingly hopeful of a ball change in similar scenes to last weeks’ tour game where emotions boiled over.
Abood looked to be unfazed by the question, asking them to continue playing.
“(Looks like they’re) talking about a bit of potential mud on the ball; making sure it’s okay to get it out of the seam,” former Australian player Rob Quiney said on commentary.
“Krishna’s not happy full stop.
“I’m not sure if it’s an aesthetics thing.”
The following ball, Harris defended the ball straight back to Krishna, where the left-arm bowler then wildly threw the ball back in Harris’ direction, resulting in two overthrows.

“A bit of frustration, and it was interesting in the build up to that ball when the ball was given to him there … he wanted the umpire to have a second look at it,” Quiney added.
Harris resumed play on Friday morning on 26 not out as the only unbeaten Test hopeful, with fellow contenders Nathan McSweeney (14 runs) and Cameron Bancroft (3) dismissed late on day one.
Prodigy Sam Konstas joined Harris out in the middle, but fell LBW in the second over of the day for three — before his state teammate Ollie Davies departed for 13 after a rogue attempt to hoick over mid-on.
Tasmanian all-rounder Beau Webster also came and went quickly, knicking off to second slip for five.
The mission for Harris today is as simple as it gets — make as many runs as possible, and reinforce to the selectors that he is the man to partner Usman Khawaja up top this summer.

Australia A begun day two at 2/53, having bowled out India A for just 161 on a juicy MCG wicket thanks to a golden four-wicket haul from Test hopeful Michael Neser.
And while a lower leg injury may appear a slight setback for his international ambitions this summer, both Neser and Scott Boland have been lauded by Australia A teammate Beau Webster for their ‘world-class’ attributes.
Dhruv Jurel was the sole performer with the bat for India A on the opening day’s play, hitting a patient 80 off 186 balls.
Play has started half an hour early today at 10am local time, after rain brought a premature end to yesterday’s play.
At the time of the MCG’s second rain delay on day two, Australia A were 5/111 after 41 overs — with Harris 48* and Jimmy Peirson 14*.
