Virat Kohli is under an injury cloud just one week out from the start of India’s bumper Test series against Australia.
According to The Sydney Morning Herald, the former skipper underwent scans this week, but the nature or severity of the issue is not clear at this stage.
The injury didn’t prevent Kohli from playing in a warm-up simulation game on Friday.

The visitors have other injury concerns to worry about stemming from the practice match, with top-order batter KL Rahul leaving the field.
Rahul was struck on the elbow at the WACA and will now undergo scans as well.
It comes as Test captain Rohit Sharma remains in doubt for the series opener in Perth due to the birth of his second child.
Sharma opted to stay home instead of travelling to Australia, but there is still a chance the star opening batter will arrive in time for next Friday’s clash at Optus Stadium.
Australia looks set to go into the first game on November 22 with a full-strength side.
