Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Cricket Australia’s National Selection Panel (NSP) have named the squad for the Prime Minister’s XI match against India in Canberra.

Queenslanders Matthew Renshaw, Jack Clayton and Jem Ryan have all been named in the 14-man PM’s XI squad who will face India next week.

It’s a timely selection for Matt Renshaw who scored a stand-out 121 in Queensland’s latest Sheffield Shield fixture against Tasmania.

Middle order batter Jack Clayton has continued his form in this seasons Sheffield Shield, earning selection averaging a strong 41.33 which includes two 50+ scores.

The two-day, day/night fixture begins on Saturday, 30 November at Manuka Oval.

The match will see India play under lights with the pink Kookaburra ball ahead of the NRMA Insurance Day Night Test Match at Adelaide Oval.

NSP Chair of Selectors George Bailey said the match is an opportunity for a highly talented squad to impress.

“The squad contains a mix of experience combined with some promising emerging players in Australian cricket,” Bailey said.

“The Prime Minister’s XI match presents an opportunity for a highly talented squad to impress against a strong Indian team in their only pink-ball hit out prior to the second Test.”
