The Perth wicket changed dramatically from Day 1 to Day 2, which has helped to explain the change in batting conditions.
Day 3 is the hottest day so far and it is expected to change again.
But for the moment Seven commentator Greg Blewett believes it’s a clear advantage to India.
“The main thing is the colour,” Blewett said.
“That’s the thing I’ve noticed the most between Day 1 and Day 2, it’s just the dryness. And looking at it on Day 3, the cracks are starting to open a lot dryer and a lot better to bat on.”
But Matthew Hayden thinks there is still hope for Australia and believes India could be five or six wickets down in “no time”.
He called the surface “furry” and was predicting “something bold.
“I’m predicting something’s gonna happen, something big with the ball, simply because I think there is plenty still in this wicket.”
