Aberdeen software specialist signs major enterprise deal with Australia-based firm – Aberdeen Business News

Aberdeen-based project management software specialist Proteus has signed a major agreement with international design, engineering and advisory company Aurecon to streamline key workflows and optimise project performance across the Australian-headquartered company for three years.

Aurecon has partnered with innovative tech newcomer Proteus since 2021, seeking to enhance project control processes.  The enterprise Proteus solution will standardise project pricing, forecasting and cost control functions across the organisation.

The Proteus solution tackles the problem of integrating data from existing systems like Workday and Dynamics, using a Proteus interface to easily manage a massive amount of data and perform calculations, across thousands of projects.

James McCallum, Proteus Chairman, said, “We’ve enjoyed working closely with Aurecon over the last three years and we look forward to continuing the partnership over the next six years to unlock new efficiencies and enable their teams to work smarter, not harder.”

“Proteus gives access to the correct data, performing complex calculations in real-time, giving the right people, the right metrics, at the right time.” Aurecon chief information officer Carl Duckinson said, “Innovation is core to Aurecon and we work with dynamic partners who aren’t afraid to challenge the norm and can provide the level of project knowledge, as well as the design thinking that is needed to elevate performance.”

The choice to work with Proteus to develop an enterprise solution is based on strong relationships and a capable product.

Aurecon operational excellence leader, Jessica Dell, said, “Proteus had the right people in the room. They have informed opinions, expert knowledge and an ability to listen, which helped guide how key workflows are structured and they have proved they can co-create a set of processes that really drive value. The work we are doing together primes us for today’s challenges, providing curated and clean data that enables our project managers to make the right decisions and generates improved AI outcomes.”

Proteus is owned by Xergy Group, a technology company headquartered in Aberdeen, Scotland with offices in the UAE and Perth, Australia. Proteus joins global SaaS heavyweights including Microsoft and Workday as one of the enterprise software providers to Aurecon.
