Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese met the Indian cricket team on Thursday, ahead of their two-day warm-up pink-ball match against the Prime Minister’s XI, scheduled to begin on November 30 in Canberra. 

Sharing moments from the meet on Instagram, Albanese posted pictures with Indian stars, including captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, among others. While acknowledging India’s prowess, he backed his home team to succeed in the game.

What did PM Anthony Albanese say about the Match?

Prime Minister Albanese expressed his thoughts about the match through his social media post.

“Big challenge ahead for the PM’s XI at Manuka Oval this week against an amazing Indian side. But as I said to PM @narendramodi, I’m backing the Aussies to get the job done,” he wrote.

How did PM Anthony Albanese interact with the Indian players?

During his visit, the Prime Minister met with the Indian players, interacting with them and exchanging friendly conversations. He took a moment to praise Jasprit Bumrah’s distinctive bowling style, calling it “one of the most unique” he had ever seen.

While greeting Virat Kohli, the Australian leader humorously referenced the batter’s century in the Perth Test, saying, “Good time in Perth, as if we weren’t suffering enough at that point.” Kohli responded with a smile, “Always gotta add some spice to it,”
