Career-best figures from Megan Schutt set Australia up for a five-wicket win over India in the first ODI at Allan Border Field on Thursday night.
While the Aussies wobbled slightly with the bat, top scorers Georgia Voll (46*) and Phoebe Litchfield (35) set the pace for the tempo for the run chase early.
Voll was unbeaten on debut scoring 46 runs from 42 balls including six 4s and one 6.

With the result, Australia extends its dominant record over India to 10 victories in their last 11 ODI matches.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, India slumped to a 12-year low after the side was rolled by Australia for a measly 100 runs.
Veteran seamer Schutt tore through the Indian line-up to take her first-ever five-wicket haul in one-day cricket.
Schutt finished with figures of 5-19 from just 6.2 overs.
Australia got off to the perfect start with India’s openers Priya Punia (3) and Smriti Mandhana (8) dismissed inside the powerplay as Schutt got going.
India’s batters struggled to fire with Jemimah Rodrigues the only team member to pass 20 runs with 23 before her off-stump was collected by Kim Garth.
With their tail collapsing, the tourists were all out after 34.2, leaving the Aussie a manageable total to tie up victory.
The result with the bat marked the Indian women’s worst batting performance against Australia since 2012 when the side was rolled for just 79 at Wankhede.
Making her international debut, Voll started her maiden innings in attack with a boundary and never looked back.
The 21-year-old Queenslander opened the batting alongside Litchfield in the absence of injured skipper Alyssa Healy.
Litchfield quickly settled in, scoring eight 4s, however this later proved her downfall when a low-hanging ball intended for the boundary was picked off by Harmanpreet Kaur at mid-off.
India quickly had two wickets after Ellyse Perry was removed on one run from four balls after nicking the ball to keeper Richa Ghosh.
Giving India a look in, Beth Mooney was also sent packing on one run from four balls after she sliced straight to point.
Voll got a life on 31 after she edged the ball but Ghosh was too late to the dive and saw the ball pass through her hands.
Annabel Sutherland (6) and Ashleigh Gardner (8) fell late allowing stand-in captain Tahlia McGrath to score the winning runs with 202 balls remaining.
Australia and India will face off in the second ODI at Allan Border Field on Sunday.
