Australian wicket-keeper Alex Carey admits it has been “hard not to hear the noise” after the side’s first Test loss against India.
The hosts were blown off the park in Perth, losing by 295 runs in the series opener, but are expected to go into the second Test with the same line-up.
There has been plenty said about the performance from the Aussies, with many calling for changes after the likes of Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith failed to fire.

Speaking to SEN Radio this week, Carey conceded the “external stuff” has filtered into the playing group, but vowed the Aussies are confident of turning it around.
“The vibe is great … everyone’s keen to get out and play,” he told SEN Radio.
“There’s a lot of external stuff being thrown around, but I know internally we’re super confident that here in Adelaide we’ll play our best style of cricket.
“With the experience at the top of the order, through the middle and the bowlers, it’s a great group to be around and I think we’re just really excited to get out there again.
“It’s hard to not hear the noise but I think we accept it, internally listen to what we need to and worry about the stuff we need to focus on.
“I trust this group to be really consistent, to be really strong and win games of cricket.”
Carey had a solid display at Optus Stadium, picking up six dismissals and scoring 38 in the second innings, but also let through 26 byes for the match.
The keeper had been in strong form at domestic level coming into the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and remains a focal point of Australia’s middle-order.
The pink-ball Test will begin at 3pm on Friday.
