The men’s and women’s singles entry lists have been revealed for next year’s Australian Open.

Fans will have some quality local talent to cheer for, with 11 Aussies currently named to compete at Melbourne Park.

In particular, the men’s draw is stacked with homegrown players.

Alex de Minaur will lead the male contingent as the world No. 9, while Alexei Popyrin and Jordan Thompson feature inside the top 30 after strong seasons.

Notably, Nick Kyrgios has used his protected ranking of No. 21 as he prepares to play his first grand slam tournament since the 2022 US Open.

The firebrand hasn’t appeared on court since June last year, having struggled with wrist, knee and foot injuries.

Christopher O’Connell, Aleksandar Vukic, Rinky Hijikata, Thanasi Kokkinakis, James Duckworth and Adam Walton are the other Aussies set to be in action.

It is a different story in the women’s singles entry list, with one sole Australian making the cut – Olivia Gadecki.

The world No. 96 will play at the season-opening major for the third time in her career.

Unless they are awarded wildcards, the likes of Daria Saville, Ajla Tomljanovic and Kimberly Birrell will have to battle their way through qualifying to reach the main draw of their home slam.
