Two of the coolest Los Angeles-based lifestyle and sportswear brands on the market, Malbon Golf and UNDEFEATED (or UNDFTD, for the uninitiated) have teamed up for a second time in a limited-release capsule collection designed for performance and style on and off the golf course. The mostly monochrome collaboration focuses on sleek rain gear and street-style-inspired layering basics with edgy graphic elements. You can see that notably in UNDFTD’s tiger-esque camo print, as well as Malbon’s signature bucket-hat/golf-ball logo mixed with the UNDEFEATED tally mark, a wink to the brand’s winning streak.
The campaign was shot at Oregon’s Bandon Dunes Resort featuring four “cultural pioneers,” as Stephen Malbon put it. Sal Barbier, Russell Winfield, Kris Stiles, and Chris Gibbs are athletes and designers who take their style as seriously as they do their sport, and all of whom have developed a passion for golf.

Gibbs, who is also the Creative Director for UNDEFEATED, told Golf Digest that he’s especially excited about the elevated, technical rainwear offerings, which also mirror the sport’s explosion in street culture and the exciting sartorial possibilities that it invites.
“To highlight [the pieces’ versatility], we knew we had to leave sunny California to find some wind and rain,” said Gibbs, explain the selection of Bandon Dunes to showcase the collection.
As always, Bandon didn’t disappoint. The resulting photographs put the raingear and players to the test, in true UNDEFEATED style.
“We got everything we wanted and more,” Gibbs said. “We damn near had to abandon the shoot mid-day due to lightning, but we stuck it out and got some amazing shots in the rain and later we got some sun too. It was an epic day, come rain or shine.”
The collection, which features a rain kit, polo, crew neck sweater, hoodie, and more, drops Dec. 6 and is available at both brand’s websites.
