Of course, a fair bit of yesterday’s discourse surrounded Mohammed Siraj’s extraordinary send off of Travis Head – after Head had just smashed a brilliant see-ball-hit-ball 140 at just under a run-a-ball.
Moreover, Siraj dropped Head earlier in his innings, when he was on 76.
Here’s what Head said about the classless moment after the day’s play.
“I said well bowled but he thought otherwise … when he pointed me to the sheds he got a little bite back from me,” Head told Fox Sports yesterday.
“I’m slightly disappointed with how that transpired, with a couple of the past innings.
“It is what it is. If they want to react like that and that’s how they want to represent themselves, then so be it.”
Have we heard the last of it?
Sri Lankan Ranjan Madugalle is the match referee, so if he wants to make an issue/example of Siraj, then we’ll likely find out after the Test.
However, given the example set earlier in the summer, when India A wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan somehow managed to escape being fined for dissent after telling umpire Shawn Craig that he had made a “stupid decision” by changing a ball after evidence of tampering had been observed, I’m not exactly expecting Siraj to have the book thrown at him…
Travis Head’s century set the tone – albeit a fractious one – and then the Australian quicks did the rest on a scintillating second day in Adelaide.
It has put Australia in a brilliant position to level the series.

Afternoon folks and welcome to the ABC Sport coverage of the third (and maybe final?) day’s play in the second Test between India and Australia at Adelaide Oval.
My name is Simon Smale, Chris De Silva is with me and we’ll be on hand throughout the day’s action to bring you all the updates from what has been another Test match played in fast forward.
India still trails by 29 runs, and needs a big stand here if they are to set Australia anything like a competitive target to chase down.
Australia, on the other hand, needs just five wickets.
It’s still set for an intriguing day’s play – and the way things have been going, you wouldn’t rule anything out.
