A new, exciting format of tennis – Red Bull Bassline- will grace Melbourne Park prior to the Australian Open.

The new quick-fire tournament will showcase some of the world’s best players at Rod Laver Arena.

Inspired by faster format events such as T20 cricket, the tournament’s unique hook is that it features no umpires.

When is the Red Bull Bassline Melbourne?

The Red Bull Bassline will be held on Tuesday, January 7 at 7pm (AEDT).

It will be held at Rod Laver Arena at Melbourne Park.

What is the format for Red Bull Bassline?

Six of the world’s best players will feature in the Red Bull Bassline that has the following guidelines and rules:

  • Best of three tie-break format
  • No umpires with players to sort of their own disputes
  • DJ playing beats during and between points

The six athletes will be in two groups of three and play in a round robin format.

The two group winners will then play each other in the final.

What players will feature at Red Bull Bassline?

The player line-up for the Red Bull Bassline has yet to be announced and will be in the coming weeks.

However, you can rule Jannik Sinner and Alexei Popyrin out from participating with the two playing an exhibition match earlier on the same day.

In the past, the likes of Carlos Alcaraz, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Andrey Rublev and Casper Ruud have played in the Red Bull Bassline.

Tickets are onsale now for the Red Bull Bassline, with all purchases including Ground Pass access and the Sinner vs. Popyrin exhibition match.
