Terrible weather has scuppered another Australian international, with the first women’s ODI against New Zealand abandoned without a ball bowled.
Alyssa Healy’s return from a month on the sidelines was stymied by persistent rain in Wellington.
The conditions were so bad, both teams were held back in their hotels and had not arrived at the ground by the time the toss was originally scheduled to take place.

The match was supposed to be the White Ferns’ first international since claiming a fairytale win at the T20 World Cup.
For Healy, the match was supposed to be a chance for her to return to the field without the pressure on her knees that comes with wicket-keeping.
The three-game series was a part of the Aussies’ preparations for the Women’s Ashes starting next month.
Healy was in the team as a specialist batter, with Beth Mooney to wear the gloves as she did against India.
Thankfully for Healy, the forecast for the second and third ODIs, to be played at the same venue on Saturday and Monday, is much better.
