The Australian Open is back for 2025.

At most sporting tournaments, organisers push for a “bigger and better” event every year.

While some fall short, the Australian Open more than often delivers on that front.

Last year, a record 1,020,763 fans entered the gates at Melbourne Park across 15 days.

There are 39 courts at Melbourne Park – 33 hard courts and six clay (which are not in use during the tournament).

The major on-site venues include Rod Laver Arena, Margaret Court Arena and Melbourne Arena.

Which Australian Open courts have roofs?

Three venues at Melbourne Park have roofs – Rod Laver Arena, Margaret Court Arena and Melbourne Arena.

These roofs can be closed in the event of extreme heat or rain.
