The world’s popular sailing trimaran is making a resurgence in Australia with two brand new pre-sold Corsair 880s arriving in Sydney this week for assembly by distributor Multihull Central, alongside a third also on display.
A fourth Corsair 880 was sold during the Sydney boat show recently and will soon be shipped to Australia and three others were recently delivered into the country totalling seven of the new designs now sold to Australians.
The 28ft Corsair 880 is a folding trailer trimaran, designed to sail very efficiently both for cruising or social racing achieving boat speeds close to wind speed.
The 28 foot sized trimarans have always been the most popular of their range as this is the largest size that can be towed by a regular 4WD. The all new Corsair 880 reinvents this concept with slick new styling, much larger floats with raked bows for reserve buoyancy, Bimini and dodger shade covers, and more internal space.
The boats are standard with a carbon fibre rig, self tacking jib, roller furling boom two cabins, shower and head, galley, cruising helm seats and salon settee. Plus optional solar panels, and other options to make the boat more cruising or more performance oriented. Multihull Central helps arrange a dual axle trailer to help you reach your favourite destination.
The Corsair 880 and its entire range are owned by parent company Seawind Catamarans and the boat share the same manufacturing facilities in Vietnam. The 880 can be shipped anywhere in the world inside of a 40 foot container making transport affordable and limitless. Other models such as the 24ft Corsair 760 are also growing in popularity in Australia due to their performance, ease of use, and trailerability.
Multihull Central is the exclusive agent in Australia and New Zealand for Corsair Marine and Seawind Catamarans amongst other performance new and used multihulls.
