Alex de Minaur relishes return to home courts at Australian Open 2025: “I’m playing with a lot more confidence”

He continued, “My job is to walk on court and do my best to win tennis matches, essentially. I still have the same prep. I’m very fortunate that I have a great team around me that we can kind of focus on our own little bubble.

“The biggest thing that’s back is my movement, that’s something that suffered a little bit of a hit after the injury last year. I’m trying to get a little bit stronger, trying to get a couple of more free points on serve, a little bit of everything.”

De Minaur began the 2025 season at the United Cup, where hosts Australia were eliminated in the group stage.

The Australian number one faces a tough test to open his Australian Open campaign, taking on Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp, who famously upset four-time major champion Carlos Alcaraz at the 2024 US Open.
