Amazon Prime Video has unveiled a new organizational structure for Australia, New Zealand and Canada with several key promotions.
Hushidar Kharas, who was the streamer’s first hire for Australia and New Zealand, is taking on a new role as head of global Prime Video brand and social strategy based in the U.S. With Kharas’ move, Amazon is upping Hwei Loke as its new head of Australia and New Zealand.
Loke, who joined Prime Video in 2020 and was previously ANZ head of creative and head of marketing at the company, is a 15-year marketing veteran who has also had stints at Disney, Australia’s SBS and Nickelodeon. She will report to Magda Grace, the overall head of Prime Video for Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Also moving up is Mark Shopiro, who will become the new head of Prime Video Canada. Shopiro has been at Amazon since 2019, most recently overseeing the engagement, marketplace, and sports business for Prime Video in Canada. Prior to joining Prime Video, he worked as an account executive for Amazon Ads.
Additionally, Dan Slepak will step into the newly created role of head of marketplace, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Both Shopiro and Slepak will report to Grace.
