E-commerce giant Amazon Australia is planning to hire hundreds of people in seasonal roles ahead of the festive season.
The jobs will involve picking, packing and shipping customer orders and no previous experience is required.
The opportunities will be based at the company’s fulfillment and logistics centres across the country to prepare for key shopping events, including Black Friday.
The business is also offering flexible working opportunities to deliver packages.
“Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided, and no previous experience or formal qualifications are required,” HR director Jacqui Marker said.
“These seasonal job opportunities are ideal for those seeking short term work, such as retirees wanting to stay engaged in work, students on their study breaks or individuals looking to re-enter the workforce and earn an extra income.”
Approximately 961,000 Australians have more than one job, according to new Australian Bureau of Statistics data, which represents an increase of more than 215,000 people in the last five years.
However as more people take on second jobs, Australians are being reminded to check their superannuation, as the number of Australians with more than one account has grown to four million.
