Joseph Suaalii made a brilliant first impression during his Australian Test debut as the Wallabies secured a famous, last-gasp 42-37 victory over England at Twickenham.
The former Sydney Roosters star, who had been fast-tracked into the Aussie set-up after inking a lucrative deal, caught the eye time and time again during the win.
The 21-year-old was in the thick of almost everything good that Joe Schmidt’s side did as he drew plenty of plaudits for his rapid integration.
Suaalii’s stellar showing has automatically sparked the conversation around future raids from union on rugby league players.

The Roosters lost not only Suaalii but also Joey Manu to the 15-man code at the end of the 2024 season.
However, the mass exodus of talent may not stop there in Bondi with former dual-code international Martin Offiah revealing another Chooks gun is on the union radar.
“I think Dom Young and Herbie Farnworth have without a doubt a skillset that would allow them to thrive in rugby union and play for England,” Offiah told Love Rugby League.
“They are leaps and bounds ahead of many rugby union outside backs in terms of physicality, pace and athleticism.
“I know for a fact that Dom Young, in particular, is a player who Steve Borthwick is very much aware of because I’ve spoken to Steve about it.”
Young, who progressed through the academy at Huddersfield Giants before making the move Down Under, is tied to the Roosters until the end of 2027.
The 23-year-old made his NRL debut for Newcastle back in 2021 and then went on to firmly establish himself in Adam O’Brien’s side the following season.
Yet it was in 2023 when he really showcased his talent as he scooped the Ken Irvine Medal for being the league’s leading try-scorer when he crossed for 25 four-pointers in 25 matches.
This devastating form outside Dane Gagai led to the Roosters stumping up the cash to sign the England international on a long-term contract.
Although Offiah noted how Young could prove to be an astute purchase in union in the years to come.
“Rugby league’s influence on rugby union is huge and continues to be so,” Offiah added.
“You could compare Young and Farnworth to the likes of Lote Tuqiri and Wendell Sailor.”
Meanwhile, Young’s agent did little to hose down suggestions of a potential code switch when he addressed the speculation around his client’s future.
“There’s always been strong interest from rugby union for Dom,” Michael Cincotta told The Telegraph.
“It’s certainly something that will be considered down the track if it’s the right opportunity.
“Dom is an exceptional athlete and would make a seamless switch with his game-breaking ability.”
