Aussie NFL Wrap-up: Week 3

Jordan Mailata – Philadelphia Eagles

After a shock loss to Atlanta last week, Philadelphia responded with a statement win against the red-hot New Orleans Saints.

Mailata was predictably excellent for the Eagles; his blocking opened up the gap that led to a 65-yard rushing TD from Saquon Barkley.

Matthew Hayball – New Orleans

On the flip side of the above result was the New Orleans Saints coming crashing back to earth.

After back-to-back games of scoring 40+ points, they managed just 12 against the Eagles who handed them their first loss of the season.

Punter Matthew Hayball had a decent outing, four punts for an average of 162 yards both season highs, but his increased usage isn’t necessarily a positive for the Saints.

Tory Taylor – Chicago Bears

Another close loss for the Bears, falling by seven points to the Indianapolis Colts in an ugly game.

Taylor was once again reliable for Chicago, three punts with the longest being 54 yards, and 127 yards in total.

Michael Dickson – Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks were firing on all cylinders Monday, as they extended their win streak to three to open the season.

Punter Michael Dickson was as impressive as the rest of the roster – four punts for 195 yards as Seattle obliterated Miami to the tune of 21 points.

Daniel Faalele – Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore fans can breathe a sigh of relief today, after their squad officially claimed their first win of the season.

The Ravens survived a late surge from the Cowboys to avoid choking yet another big lead, and add a ‘1’ to their win column.

Daniel Faalele had some big plays during the game, none more so than the block that would help quarterback Lamar Jackson make what would be the game-sealing run.

Mitch Wishnowsky – San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers’ woes continued in week three, losing to the Los Angeles Rams on a field goal as time expired as their bounce-back season after last season’s Super Bowl defeat leaves much to be desired.

Mitch Wishnowsky’s services were only required twice by his team, punting for a total of 90 yards.
