Aussies suffer 24-year low in shambolic ODI capitulation

Looking to avoid its first home series defeat against Pakistan since 2002, Australia will be without Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc, Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne in Sunday’s ODI decider at Perth Stadium (2:30pm AEDT).

The star quintet have all been pulled out of the third ODI as selectors prioritise preparation for this month’s Border-Gavaskar Test series against India.

The ODI squad, which was already without Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head due to paternity leave, will be led by Josh Inglis in the series decider as well as next week’s three T20Is.

Australia lost the second ODI by nine wickets after being bowled out for 163, and only just scraped home in the first ODI.

The Australians last lost a home series against Pakistan in 2002.
