Australia have beaten Scotland by six wickets in the third T20I of their three-match series in Edinburgh on Sunday morning (AEST), completing a 3-0 whitewash of the associate nation.

Cameron Green was the star of the show on Sunday, plundering 62 not out from 39 balls and taking three wickets as well.

Put into bat first, Scotland again eked their way to a sub-par score.

Contributions came from George Munsey (25 from 17) and Brandon McMullen (56 from 39), but the rest of the lineup offered little as the home side stuttered to 149/9 from their 20 overs.

In response, Australia made a sedate start, losing both Travis Head and Jake Fraser-McGurk early.

However, when Green reached the crease, he combined with captain Mitchell Marsh and then Tim David to make short work of the Scottish total.

“There are very small margins when you play teams like Australia, and if you’re not on it, they’ll hurt you,” Scottish captain Richie Berrington mused after the loss.

“It’s been a tough week results-wise, but having an opportunity to play against a team like Australia has been fantastic.”

Man-of-the-match Green pillaged five sixes to go with his two fours as he made a 33-ball 50, carrying his bat as the visitors won with 23 balls to spare.

“I’ve had a lot of fun in the IPL, it’s a form of the game everyone loves watching, and the cricketers love playing it too,” said Green following Australia’s victory in Edinburgh.

“We gave a lot of guys opportunities, and a few guys took it, and hopefully it can lead to some good cricket in our next series.”

Next up, Australia head south to take on England for eight white ball matches, with the first of five T20Is starting on Thursday morning (AEST).

Cricket betting sites have Australia as the narrow favourite ahead of the first T20I.

The top online bookmakers puts the world No.2 side at $1.80 to win, while home side England are not far behind on $2.
