Australia v India third Test LIVE updates: Aussie top order begin test from Bumrah after rain clears at Gabba

While we wait for the rain to clear, let’s have some more Q&A time. Our man at the Gabba, Tom Decent, has showed great discipline to stay away from the party pies and sausage rolls to answer more of your questions.

This one’s from Nick: “What should be the plan to develop Sam Konstas? When will he be blooded in either T20 or ODI for Australia?”

Decent: “Great question. I have no doubt Nathan McSweeney will make it as a fine Test player but the jury is out on him as an opener. If McSweeney doesn’t make a reasonable score today, or at the MCG, I’d pick Konstas to open at the SCG, Will Pucovski style. Sri Lanka might not be his go, but next year’s West Indies tour looms as a perfect chance to take him on the tour. His innings last night for the Thunder was sensational. Baby steps, though. He’s got the game for T20 but is supremely focused on making it as a Test player first. Looks a three-format player for Australia.”
