AUSTRALIAN BOOMERS FIBA ASIA CUP 2025 QUALIFYING TOURNAMENT TEAM SELECTION – Basketball NSW

Basketball Australia has announced the Australian Boomers squad set to compete in the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifying Tournament in Thailand this month.

Basketball NSW is thrilled to highlight the selection of three NSW representatives: Will Hickey (Sydney Comets), Nick Kay (Tamworth Thunderbolts), and Jordan Hunter (Norths Bears), alongside Assistant Coach Robbie McKinlay (Sutherland Sharks / Centre of Excellence).

The Boomers will face two key matchups—against Thailand on November 21 and Korea on November 24—as they begin their qualification journey for next year’s tournament in Saudi Arabia.

The squad features Tokyo Olympic bronze medalists Nick Kay, Chris Goulding, and Nathan Sobey, along with a talented lineup experienced in international tournaments and qualifying rounds, including Jack White, Sam Froling, Dejan Vasiljevic, Ben Henshall, Mitch Norton, Jordan Hunter, and promising 18-year-old center Rocco Zikarsky, all currently active in the NBL season.

In addition, Illawarra Hawks duo Will “Davo” Hickey and Lachlan Olbrich are set to make their senior international debut with the Boomers.
