Australian Cycle Tours has announced the addition of a new family-friendly cycle trip that takes in the highlights of the scenic Tweed Valley and the northern Rivers Rail Trail.
The trip begins in the charming Northern Rivers town of Murwillumbah, located close to the NSW/Queensland border and easily accessed from the Gold Coast Airport, Byron Bay, or Brisbane. The town is surrounded by lush rainforests and is the ideal base for exploring the World Heritage-listed national parks, Tweed Regional Gallery and Margaret Olley Art Centre, and the town’s colourful art and food scene.
The 4-day cycle trip costs $1,420 per adult, based on two adult and one or two children sharing a family room with three nights’ accommodation, self-guided cycling, e-bike hire, luggage transfers, and family transfers during the cycle trip. Supplements can apply for tag-a-long bikes or trailers for children and e-bike hire for children.
Day 1– Arrive in Murwillumbah
Day 2 – collect bikes, cycle the Northern Rivers Rail Trail to Crabbes Creek with a visit to Hosanna Farm stay enroute to feed the animals, coffee break (entrance ticket included in the trip cost). Transfer back to Murwillumbah.
Day 3 – Morning transfer from Murwillumbah back to Crabbes Creek for a short on-road cycle before joining the coastal cycle path up to Salt Beach.
Day 4 – Transfer to Murwillumbah – or a short 15km cycle on the coastal cycle path to Tweeds Head before a transfer to Murwillumbah – or cycle back to Murwillumbah. Trip ends on arrival Murwillumbah.
