One of the world’s most famous surf breaks – Teahupo’o off the island of Tahiti in French Polynesia – will play host to the surfing competition for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Despite being almost 16,000km from Paris, organisers opted to hold the tournament in the French territory, known for its monstrous reef break.

Four Australians, including Jack Robinson, Tyler Wright, Ethan Ewing and Molly Picklum, will vye for the medals in what is sure to be a white-knuckle ride for competitors and fans alike.

How to watch the Olympic surfing in Australia on TV

The Nine Network has the full broadcast rights in Australia for the upcoming Olympic Games.

Events are set to be shown on free-to-air television via Channel 9 and 9Gem, with both channels to provide 24-hour hosted coverage.

This includes the opening and closing ceremonies of the games on 26th July and 11th August respectively.

There are two streaming options for the Olympics, with 9Now available to all Australians for free and providing round the clock coverage of every event at the games, having a channel dedicated to each sport.
