Australian Survivor is gearing up for an international showdown, pitting a tribe of former Aussie castaways against a tribe of Survivor contestants from around the world.
The special season, scheduled to air in 2025, was originally intended to be an Australia versus USA theme, with contestants from Australian Survivor and Survivor US facing off. However, when plans fell apart, the theme shifted to Australia against the World, with former castaways from various international editions invited to participate.
Unlike regular Survivor, the season is expected to have a shorter run-time (around 15 days) and a smaller cast (14 players). The season will still include immunity challenges and tribal councils, though the exact format and airing schedule have yet to be confirmed. In addition, a regular full-length Australian Survivor with new castaways will air in 2025.
Paramount NZ has confirmed the first six names taking part in the special season, which includes some bonafide Survivor legends. Representing Australia will be George Mladenov, Shonee Bowtell, and Kirby Bentley. Meanwhile, flying the flag for the World will be Survivor US icons Cirie Fields, Parvati Shallow, and Tony Vlachos.
In addition, Paramount confirms that castaways from Survivor South Africa, Norway, and New Zealand will make up the International tribe.
Stay tuned for more info in the coming weeks.
